Fever Dream
Fever Dream is a colourful, slightly surreal love letter to Howth — a place that has lived in my imagination for a long time.
Inspired by the energy of murals, street art and abstract painting, I wanted to bring together the things that make Howth feel so magical to me: the sea, the Bailey Lighthouse, the Poolbeg Lighthouse and, of course, the famous Howth seal who seems to have become a local celebrity in his own right.
The piece sits somewhere between a memory, a daydream and a wish. The familiar landmarks are woven into a more dreamlike world of colour, shape and movement, reflecting the way a place can exist not only on a map, but also in our imagination.
There is something personal behind the work too. Fever Dream is my way of manifesting a future I often find myself imagining — one where we live in a beautiful home by the sea in Howth, close enough to hear the waves and watch the world go by.
Perhaps that is what a fever dream really is: a vision that feels just slightly too wonderful to be real… until one day it is.
