Hints of a face may emerge through layers of texture, like a memory surfacing or a truth waiting to be seen. Throughout the <em data-start=\"227\" data-end=\"235\" data-is-only-node=\"\">Portal<\/em> series, texture has served as both a distortion and a doorway\u2014and here, it creates a gentle tension between what is hidden and what longs to be revealed. This piece is not about concealment, but invitation.
