Bright, tropical and a little bit cheeky, Make Me a Cocktail is an abstract celebration of warm places, colourful memories and the irresistible feeling of wanting to be somewhere sunny.
Inspired by tropical landscapes, holidays, exotic fruits and those hazy, golden moments spent somewhere warm, this piece is full of vibrant colour, movement and a sense of escape. It’s the kind of painting that makes you want to slow down, put your feet up and order something colourful with a little umbrella in it.
And the title has a more personal story too. Make Me a Cocktail became particularly fitting during pregnancy, when my cravings had a mind of their own! What started as a playful title became a little nod to this very particular chapter of my life.
For me, this painting is about joy, the art of waiting and allowing yourself to crave a little bit of sunshine — wherever you are.
