Dublin full of magic and myth
This illustration is my love letter to Dublin. Also now it can be used to post to your loved ones abroad!
Rather than capturing the city exactly as it is, I wanted to create a version of Dublin that feels magical, nostalgic and a little bit mythical—a place where history, culture and everyday life collide.
Inspired by vintage circus posters, a touch of grunge, this piece celebrates the icons that make Dublin unmistakably itself. From the Poolbeg Chimneys standing proudly on the skyline, to the Five Lamps, the elegant curves of the Samuel Beckett Bridge, the Poolbeg Lighthouse, the Claddagh symbol, a perfectly poured pint of Guinness and the simple joy of a 99 ice cream—each element tells part of the city’s story.
To me, Dublin isn’t defined by its size. It’s a tiny city with an enormous heart. It’s full of character, creativity, humour and resilience. It’s a place where old myths meet modern architecture, where history sits comfortably beside everyday rituals, and where magic can still be found in the ordinary.
Whether Dublin is your home, your favourite city, or simply somewhere that has left its mark on your heart, I hope this print captures a little of that feeling.
