In Irish folklore, Danu is often regarded as the mother goddess—a symbol of abundance, wisdom, and the life-giving power of rivers, seas, and the natural world. She reminds us that water is more than a landscape; it is memory, movement, healing, and transformation.
In my interpretation, Danu emerges as a mermaid, her body flowing seamlessly into the ocean that both holds and becomes her. The sea doesn’t simply surround her—it embraces her. She is part of every wave, every tide, every current. Her presence blurs the boundary between woman and water, inviting us to see ourselves as connected to nature rather than separate from it.

What are Giclée prints?
Giclée print (pronounced “zhee-clays”). Giclee is a French term meaning “to spray”, referring to how an inkjet printer works and how giclee prints are usually produced. These large format inkjet printers use small spraying devices that can both match color and apply ink precisely, giving artists a high-quality print of their original art. But, not all inkjet printers produce giclée prints. It all boils down to these four elements: resolution, ink, paper, and printer type. And here we have all four done beautifully by a local printer in Killester.
